Local Tenant Organizations (LTOs)

The soul of a community is its devoted volunteer organizations. Local Tenant Organizations (LTOs), also known as Resident/Tenant Task Forces, are just that – volunteer organizations at many public housing developments. LTO officers are elected by other residents and take an active role in their housing communities.

LTO Officers' responsibilities include:
  • Keeping residents informed of improvements, operations and management.
  • Working closely with management to bring social and recreational programs to their community.
  • Providing feedback and input on policies and procedures to management.

LTOs are governed by Boston Housing Authority’s Resident Participation Policy and many have their own set of bylaws as well. The updated Tenant Participation Policy will be soon be available in Spanish.
