Grievances and Appeals for Section 8 Participants

A Section 8 participant may be entitled to a hearing before a Hearing Officer to appeal a proposed termination of their assistance, a determination of their income or rent share, a denial of residual tenancy, a determination of unit size or a denial of a reasonable accommodation request. 

Hearing requests must be submitted in writing within twenty days of Boston Housing Authority’s decision. The Grievances and Appeals Administrator will schedule a hearing as promptly as possible. Notice of the hearing will be sent at least 14 days in advance to the address provided in the hearing request or, if none is provided, to the last address reported to BHA.
