General Description:
ABOUT THE JOB:
Under direct supervision, assists the Director of Central Stores and Material Requisition Specialist in materials management, data processing, and purchasing activities for Central Stores office and warehouse operations with special emphasis on inventory functions including processing of orders and stock issues, as well as, all clerical data entry functions required for ordering and maintenance of inventory and property records. Assists warehouse personnel in the physical receiving and issuing of stock when workload required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Systematic requisitioning of the quantity and type of material required to maintain an adequate inventory. Performs all data entry activity at Central Stores and provides data reports to Central Stores Supervisory Staff as requested. Assists in periodic reviews of stock demands to update minimum/maximum levels and determine obsolete items. Operate economic ordering or time ordering system based upon historical usage of inventory items. Enter data necessary to maintain inventory and requisition status system. Assist in follow-up tracking of outstanding orders or required documents through contact with BHA development staffs and vendors when required.
  • Perform all necessary data entry functions for the maintenance of the inventory record keeping system.
  • Provide labor for the physical movement of stock when workload demands. May include operation of warehouse equipment, physical movement of appliances and other inventory material during deliveries, physical inventory, and stock issuing activities.
  • Provide assistance to the Material Requisition Specialist and liaison between Central Stores and other departments/developments. 
  • Provide support to the Director of Central Stores in coordinating daily office activities (telephones, mail, customer service, copies, filing, etc.)
  • Coordinate filing systems with the Material Requisition Specialist, research and respond to requests for order status from BHA development managers.
  • Perform any other related duties or special projects as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: High school diploma or its equivalent required. Demonstrated ability in utilizing computer equipment for required data entry functions as well as manual inventory control procedures is required. Ability to conduct the physical movement of inventory materials and operate warehouse equipment is required. Significant experience in warehouse operations and inventory procedures is strongly preferred. Windows based word processing, spreadsheet, and database software preferred.
