IFB # 2468-01 Conduit Proofing, Labeling and Correction at Various BHA Sites

The Boston Housing Authority invites sealed bids from qualified Contractors for conduit proofing, labeling and correction at various BHA sites, including South Street, Archdale, West Broadway Apartments, West Broadway Homes, Alice H. Taylor Apartments, Ruth Lillian Barkley Apartments; and the Heritage Apartments in Boston, MA.

The Project consists of performing a proofing procedure that will determine the usability of Comcast OSP conduit pathways from the City of Boston Municipal Network (BoNet) point of presence (POP) at each Boston Housing Authority site to each building that comprises the site. The base scope of work includes: 1) Reviewing the draft engineering designs for each site that detail the OSP ingress/egress locations identified during recent site surveys; 2) Conducting survey to determine the viability of a pathway and capture the conduit size, footage, and current fill ration; and 3) taping conduit. The contractor will proof conduit and survey vaults, install 1800LB mule tape in passable conduits, share survey information on unpassable conduits with the BHA project team and execute agreed-upon remediations where necessary. Conduit proofing will support fiber optic cabling being installed for a residential in-unit wireless access project. Additional services to remediate issues with existing conduit may be provided at unit prices.
