Hundreds of neighbors joined the BHA, the Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture, and The Community Builders to share their thoughts on the future of 290 North Beacon Street on April 16th.

Building the 290 N Beacon Development Team

The Boston Housing Authority has brought on The Community Builders (TCB) to the development team for 290 North Beacon. TCB brings decades of experience delivering new mixed-use real estate development in Boston and across the country and will bring their creative financing expertise to this project.

MOAC has selected Webb Mgmt as the music rehearsal space engagement consultant for the 290 North Beacon project. They will be assisted by Inquillinos Boricuas en Acción, Wilson Butler, and Accentech bringing together a team with extensive experience in creating high quality cultural and acoustic developments. They will support the musician and artist engagement efforts.

.BHA and MOAC to host Design Process

In April 2026, The Boston Housing Authority (BHA), in partnership with the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture (MOAC), announced the selection of the design team for 290 North Beacon. ISA, Assemble, and Supernormal will combine their complementary strengths to design housing and cultural infrastructure that is ambitious, affordable, and rooted in the context of both the Allston/Brighton neighborhood and the Boston artist community.  

Identify an Operator for the Arts and Culture Space

Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture (MOAC) will need to issue a RFP for an Arts Consultant to assist in the design, and community engagement for the music, arts, and cultural spaces.
 

Determine Development Path

The BHA will determine what is the best way to develop the site.
