Welcome to Walnut Park Apartments.

Walnut Park is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons. Our development offers approximately 161 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments in a unique, round-shaped twenty-story, elevator-equipped building built in the 1970s.

Many of our units are equipped with special amenities specifically designed for elderly and disabled individuals, such as emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathroom, and intercoms in every apartment. We have units that are handicapped accessible and we may modify existing apartments based on Reasonable Accommodation requests.

Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.

Walnut Park is located in the heart of Egleston Square in Roxbury. Our complex is close to a wide variety of stores and services in the surrounding community.

In Egleston Square, you will find a number of banks, a Stop & Shop, ethnic food restaurants, CVS, Walgreen’s, a fish market, gas station, barber shop, a public library, the E-13 police station, Dimock Street Community Health Center, Martha Elliot Health Center and Brookside Neighborhood Health Center.

The Tenant Task Force works hand-in-hand with the BHA, as well as with numerous public and private organizations to foster an independent lifestyle for residents while building a strong sense of community within the building.

The Tenant Task Force also encourages residents to participate directly in strengthening their community through a variety of educational, cultural, social and recreational activities.
