ABOUT THE JOB:
Under the supervision of the Director and/or Assistant Director of Capital Construction Department, the Project Manager acts as the owner's representative in small and large ($1, $15 million) capital improvement projects. The Project Manager is responsible for assessing scope of project, planning architectural and engineering contracts as well as managing construction contracts. Projects are to be completed within schedule and budget while monitoring the highest level of design and construction quality possible.

Looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or Construction Management and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of Massachusetts' construction regulations (especially Chapter 149 regulation) and generally accepted construction and trade practices is a necessity.

ABOUT THE JOB: The Planning and Development Department oversees the transformation of BHA's most outdated public housing into thriving and sustainable communities, as well as the creation of new deeply affordable subsidized housing communities throughout the city. Current initiatives include:

  • Redeveloping BHA's largest public housing sites, Charlestown and Mary Ellen McCormack, into mixed-income communities.
  • Redeveloping BHA's Faneuil Gardens community, including full replacement of the existing state public housing units plus creation of new affordable housing.
  • Modernizing existing apartments for seniors and disabled residents, with a focus on decarbonization, accessibility, and community wellness.
  • ​Creating new deeply affordable housing using Faircloth-to-RAD subsidies.
  • Leading BHA's 5-year Agency Plan process with mapping and data analytics and robust resident participation.
  • Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Real Estate Development, the Project Manager will work with a team responsible for planning and implementing BHA's redevelopment projects. As part of that team, the Project Manager will be responsible for drafting requests for proposals and contracts in connection with development activities; preparing funding applications; managing development budgets and contracts throughout the development process; assisting in financial structuring, financial modeling and negotiations related to complex real estate development transactions; conducting community and resident meetings; managing the permitting process and communication with various local and state agencies and neighborhood groups; and coordinating the work of the project team.
  • The Project Manager will have particular responsibility for ensuring that relocation and other resident services are implemented efficiently and in a manner that continually supports BHA residents.
  • The Project Manager will work collaboratively within Planning & Real Estate Development and across other BHA Departments, including Operations, Asset Management, Leased Housing, and Capital Construction, among others.

ABOUT THE JOB:
Office/remote position. Under the direct supervision of an Assistant Director of Rental Assistance or their designee, the Homeownership Coordinator evaluates and makes recommendations relative to the eligibility and suitability of households seeking admission to BHA's Homeownership Programs. The Homeownership Coordinator is responsible for all duties relating to clients eligibility and mortgage payment generation for all of BHA;s homeownership programs, including but not limited to: certification of initial and continued eligibility for homeownership assistance for both the Federal and City homeownership programs, and maintaining the homeownership client caseload. The caseload responsibilities will include preparation and execution of all necessary documents to complete the generation of Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) for mortgages, and redetermination of participant income upon request. This Individual will also be responsible for file creation and data entry in all of BHA's systems of record to document the client files in compliance with governing agencies. Additionally the Leased Housing Homeownership Coordinator will serve as the primary caseworker for clients who are in the process of receiving, or already receiving homeownership assistance from BHA, and serve as the liaison between BHA's Homeownership Team and & the Leased Housing and Admissions staff. The Leased Housing. Homeownership Coordinator will also be responsible for the, screening, eligibility, data entry and mortgage generation for homeownership applicants from other BHA programs, such as Public Housing and the City Voucher Program.
