Welcome to Frederick Douglass Apartments.
Frederick Douglass is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons. Frederick Douglass offers approximately 76 efficiency and one-bedroom apartments in an eight-story, elevator-equipped building built in 1973. Frederick Douglass, along with Washington Manor and Hampton House, are known as the “Three Sisters” because of their identical design and structure.
We offer many amenities for elderly and disabled individuals, which include emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms as well as intercoms in every apartment. We have units that are handicapped accessible and we may modify existing apartments based on Reasonable Accommodation requests.
Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.
