Section 8 Public Lottery

The BHA will use a computerized random lottery selection process to establish the placement of each Tenant Based Section 8 application on the waiting list by determining an exact application date and time for these applications.

The random lottery application date and time will be a date and time commencing October 20, 2008. Each applicant will be assigned a separate date and time reflecting the results of the random lottery.

Although the BHA will process applications from all persons that apply during the re-opening period, only the first 8,000 applications will be placed on the waiting list and ranked by the random lottery application date and time. The ranking of each applicant on the Tenant-based Waiting List post the Random Lottery results will be based on the application date and time, self-certified priority and any applicable preferences in accordance to the BHA’s HCVP Administrative Plan.
