The Leased Housing Division administers the Authority's federal Section 8 program, as well as a number of other rental assistance programs. It subsidizes thousands of eligible families in privately-owned apartments, providing an alternative to the Authority's conventional public housing.

The Leased Housing Division includes an Inspections Department (located at the Authority's Amory Street development), which performs regular inspections of the Division's subsidized units to ensure compliance with all applicable sanitary codes and program requirements.
