Ashmont Street is a close-knit, welcoming community that offers approximately 53 one- and two- bedroom apartments in a unique two-story, garden-style setting built in the 1960s. Our sunny apartments and quiet community provide residents with a nice place to call home.

We offer many amenities for elderly and disabled individuals, which include emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms as well as intercoms in every apartment.

Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.

Location:

Ashmont Street is conveniently located just outside Peabody Square in Dorchester. A number of stores and businesses are located nearby, including a convenience and lunch shop on Adams Street and a Store 24 in Peabody Square Library,  Health care is available at Carney Hospital.

Tenant Task Force:

The Tenant Task Force works hand-in-hand with the BHA, as well as with numerous public and private organizations to foster an independent lifestyle for residents while building a strong sense of community within the building.

The Tenant Task Force also encourages residents to participate directly in strengthening their community through a variety of educational, cultural, social and recreational activities.
