Washington Street is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income, elderly and disabled persons. Each apartment features decorative tile flooring. Many apartments have a view of the city skyline.

This six-story, elevator-equipped building offers approximately 82 one- and two-bedroom apartments with many amenities specifically designed for elderly and disabled individuals. Some features include emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms as well as intercoms in every apartment. We have units that are handicapped accessible and we may modify existing apartments based on Reasonable Accommodation requests.

Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.

Washington Street employs a professional management team that promptly responds to all resident needs in a timely manner. The staff includes:

Washington Street Apartments is conveniently located at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Washington Street in Brighton. Many businesses and services are located within walking distance, including a supermarket and bank. Health care is available nearby at the St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Washington Street Apartments is easily reached by public transportation. A MBTA bus stop is located at the front of the apartments and the Green Line is a block away. Special senior transportation is provided to and from the local supermarket.

THE RIDE, a door-to-door transportation service provided by the MBTA, is available by appointment for persons with disabilities.

Also, a city-operated Senior Shuttle is available by appointment for residents to go to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping.
