Welcome to Joseph Malone Apartments.

Joseph Malone is a warm, welcoming community that offers 100 one-bedroom apartments in a garden-style environment for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons.

This site provides many amenities for elderly and disabled individuals, which include emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms as well as intercoms in every apartment. We have units that are handicap accessible and we may modify existing apartments based on Reasonable Accommodation requests.

Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.

Location:

Joseph Malone is located in Hyde Park, in a pleasant residential area comprised mostly of single-family homes. The complex is only a five-minute walk to a bustling shopping area with many stores and services. Star Market is less than one-half mile away. There are churches of many different denominations near Cleary Square.

Health care is available at Faulkner and Carney hospitals; both are within a few miles of Malone.

We offer a wide range of amenities, programs, and services that include:

• Walking paths, large open grassy area, trees, flowers and outside patio with tables and benches for residents to enjoy
• Spacious community room
• Laundry facilities at both ends of the complex
• Small sitting room with restrooms

• On-site hot lunch program each Monday
• Regular activities such as bingo, line dancing classes, walking groups, sing-a-longs, field trips, birthday parties and coffee hours
• Separate supportive housing initiative called “Summer House” that provides long-term care for frail elders with a full-time service counselor
• A tranquil spot where residents relax

Tenant Task Force:

The Tenant Task Force works hand-in-hand with the BHA, as well as with numerous public and private organizations to foster an independent lifestyle for residents while building a strong sense of community within the building.

The Tenant Task Force also encourages residents to participate directly in strengthening their community through a variety of educational, cultural, social and recreational activities.
