Rutland Street/East Springfield is a small development located in a popular urban location in the South End Community. Built in the late 1800’s, the apartments are located in attractive brownstone buildings in the South End’s Historical District. Rutland/E. Springfield has a total of 13 apartments in 4 buildings. These apartments range in size from one bedroom to three bedrooms. Rutland/East Springfield is managed in conjunction with the nearby West Newton Street complex. Rents are calculated at 30% of a resident’s income. Residents have the option of choosing a flat rent as well.
Location:
Rutland is located near many businesses and services including a pharmacy, public library, several elementary schools and churches and a number of ethnically diverse restaurants. Health care is available nearby at the South End Community Health Center and at the Boston Medical Center.
Transportation:
Rutland is easily reached by public transportation by buses that run up Washington and Tremont streets. Copley Square and the Copley Station MBTA stop on the Green Line are close by providing access to downtown Boston, Forest Hills Station and the Commuter Rail. The Orange Line’s Massachusetts Avenue stop is close by as well, providing bus access to Harvard Square.
