Metrolist
is the popular name for the Metropolitan Housing Opportunity Clearing Center. Metrolist collects and provides information primarily about government subsidized apartments for rent, and homes for sales, in and around Boston. Metrolist is located on the ninth floor, room 966-A, of Boston City Hall at Government Center and is open for business Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. Metrolist is a free service. Who may use Metrolist & what can Metrolist do for you? |
Metrolist services are available to residents of the City of Boston. We may be able to help you, if you are looking for an apartment or a house, or need information about getting on a waiting list for public housing in Boston. Metrolist updates listings regularly. We provide the name and address of all government subsidized apartments or houses that are available for rent or sale. We also list non-subsidized apartments and houses when the owner chooses to list vacancies with Metrolist.
Many properties subsidized by federal, state, or City of Boston funds are required to file vacancies with us. Also public housing authorities are required to file tenant selection criteria, waiting list procedures and sample applications.

What properties are listed with Metrolist? |

Any apartment or house can be listed with Metrolist. An owner of a unit for rent or sale can request a Metrolist registration form. This form entitles the owner to have their unit listed for 60 days, or until the unit is occupied.

Metrolist Services |
Listings are divided into rental and homeownership categories. Each listing contains a description of the housing, such as, rent amount, number of bedrooms, and special features.
Metrolist staff are on hand to answer questions. Listings are kept as current as possible. We will provide you with all the information that we receive about a unit or a house, or a specific city or town.
