General Description: Under the supervision of the Assistant to the General Counsel, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the effective operation of the office support system. Provides administrative support to staff attorneys. Frequently must use independent judgement and planning to relieve the attorney of many routine administrative matters. Works fairly independently, requiring minimum supervision and guidance.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Drafts correspondence, maintains data base information system and files, compiles data for use in reports.
- Responsible for assisting with secretarial workload.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned including answering phones, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, monitoring invoices and carrying out special projects.
- Performs other related duties required.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience: High school diploma and graduation from business secretarial school or equivalent experience required. Must have the ability to perform administrative tasks. Must be able to handle a heavy workload, independently prioritizing work and meeting deadlines. Must have accurate grammar and spelling skills. Excellent computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft office applications. Must type at least sixty (60 ) words per minute. A minimum of three-(3) years legal or equivalent secretarial experience is required. Must have considerable experience in handling the more routine, but important, office administrative duties. Individual should be comfortable working in a busy office environment; and have the ability to work well with others.
