General Description: Under direct supervision, the Emergency Response Operator is responsible for processing and recording maintenance documents including, but not limited to work orders, living unit inspection forms, buildings and grounds inspection forms, etc., and other data developed by the Operations Division.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Maintains lists, control screens, reports, and records using computer terminal screens and programs.
- Provides research and data retrieval as requested.
- Receives and enters information concerning maintenance service from a variety of sources including, but not limited to telephone service requests, inspection forms, development maintenance staff, etc.
- Maintains files in an orderly manner.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Understanding of maintenance procedures and terminology through work experience in a maintenance work order processing environment is preferred. Patience and ability to do data entry while obtaining the data via telephone is required. Familiarity with the operation of computer terminals and previous data entry experience preferred. This position requires knowledge, skills, and aptitude for detailed accurate information processing of numerical, and conceptual natures. The incumbent must possess satisfactory language skills, both written and oral, and be able to deal effectively with others under sometimes difficult conditions. Candidates must demonstrate typing skills which are transferable to a computer terminal keyboard.
