General Description: Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of MIS and in conjunction with the Implementation Analyst I, the Training & Documentation Analyst coordinates the development and delivery of the Boston Housing Authority's ("BHA") computer training and the creation of documentation for the BHA’s various software application products. The Training & Documentation Analyst is responsible for the ongoing operation of the BHA's computer training program, and for monitoring and improving the efficacy of all computer training and support activities. In addition, the Training & Documentation Analyst will support the Assistant Director of MIS and other Analysts in creating software application documentation that can be used for training and as a reference for ongoing departmental utilization of the BHA’s various software applications. The Training & Documentation Analyst must be able to work independently and with other MIS staff and must be capable of relating to a wide variety of system users with various levels of familiarity with systems and technology.

Duties & Responsibilities: Develops, coordinates, and delivers computer training for all BHA staff. • Develops and maintains computer application documentation for various BHA software applications, including software usage guides, operating manuals, and F1 Help texts. • Works with other MIS Analysts to identify training needs and coordinate training delivery to BHA staffs. • Coordinates with MIS technical staff to maintain the computer training facility. • Coordinates with the BHA Human Resources department to identify and address staff training needs, including new employee training, position requirements, etcetera. • Works with the Help Desk Administrator to identify training, support, and technology needs. • Establishes and maintains a computer training knowledge-base. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related subject, 5 to 8 years experience with computer training in positions of increasing responsibility, along with 2 to 3 years experience designing training classes and curriculum. Candidates must have experience supervising staff, and should have experience resolving user-oriented issues and problems. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree in information management highly desirable. Candidates must have 2 or more years experience with computer training in positions of increasing responsibility, along with 1 or more years experience designing training classes and curriculum. Expertise in Microsoft Office applications is required. Knowledge of, and experience with, Windows operating systems, and enterprise software applications, including financial, human resources, and/or property management software is required. The candidate must have experience designing and delivering a wide range of computer training courses, developing training curricula, and developing computer documentation. The candidate must be knowledgeable about a wide range of PC software, including Windows OS, desktop productivity software, and e-mail, Internet, and database applications. The candidate must be knowledgeable about a range of enterprise software applications, including financial, human resources, and/or property management applications. Candidate must possess extremely strong communication skills and user support abilities. Candidate must be able to work as a part of a team of MIS professionals.
