General Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of Community Services, direct supervision of the Senior Services Coordinator, the Services Coordinator is responsible for the on-site coordination and implementation of the service component of the ROSS 2000 self-sufficiency program at the Washington Beech Public Housing Development and other family public housing developments as needed, and provides case Management to residents including those with disabilities via household assessments and service plans.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides case management services (intake, assessment, develop and monitor goals) to residents at the Washington Beech and other public housing developments.
  • Conducts outreach, recruitment and client tracking of residents utilizing the self-sufficiency services
  • and the Provider network.
  • Develops effective relationships with neighborhood health and service providers and collaborates with the same agencies to ensure delivery of services to residents of Washington Beech and other BHA developments.
  • Serves as a liaison with community agencies providing social services to the Washington Beech and other BHA communities.
  • Responds to management referrals regarding resident household issues that may impact tenancy.
  • Creates appropriate plans of action to address issues with residents.
  • Participates, attends, and coordinates meetings with the Property Managers and the Tenants
  • Associations, resident committees, services providers, community groups and professional organizations as required.
  • Provides case management and job search assistance to BHA residents with disabilities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) year’s experience working with families, youth, elders and people with disabilities. Experience may be substituted for formal educational requirements. A minimum of two years of combined experience in social services delivery, program administration and case management. A Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Special Education, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of disabilities, employment issues and service systems; 3 + years experience providing supports to people with disabilities; familiar with job development, job accommodations employer relationship building; and the Boston area job market; experience working with individuals facing a range of social and economic barriers to employment. Strong communication skills, writing and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are required. Bilingual/Spanish is a plus. Additional skills required include knowledge of social service networking for families, youth, persons with disabilities and elders, excellent writing and oral skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience working in public or other affordable housing environments. Knowledge and familiarity with human service delivery systems. Extensive computer literacy required. Knowledge of Microsoft word, Access, Excel, Publisher, and Access Database with ability to provide detailed monthly reports. The ability to work in a public housing setting and nights and weekends when needed is a necessity. Ability to work with individuals from cultures other that your own is a must!
