Welcome to Bellflower Apartments. We are pleased that you are considering our community for your future home.

Bellflower is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons. Bellflower offers approximately 113 one- and two- bedroom apartments in a modern four-story, elevator-equipped brick building built in 1981.

We offer many amenities for elderly and disabled individuals. Our units range from being fully equipped to modified to handicapped accessible.

Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.

Bellflower employs a professional management team that promptly responds to all resident needs in a timely manner. The staff includes:
  • Manager
  • Management Aide
  • Resident Service Coordinator
  • Two resident custodians


The BHA’s Elderly and Disabled Resident Service Coordinators have been trained to:
  • perform need assessments and make appropriate referrals for services
  • access services to enhance tenancy and independent life
  • coordinate services for home bound frail elderly/disabled
  • help residents to access services that enhance quality of life
  • assist in crisis intervention with tenants at risk
  • advocate and liaison with management, family, health providers and community agencies.

Location
Bellflower is located in Dorchester, with many stores and businesses conveniently located nearby, including DJ’s Market and Stop & Shop. The South Bay Shopping Center, University of Massachusetts’ Harbor Campus and John F. Kennedy Library are in the area as well. Health care is available at the New England Medical Center.

Public transportation is located at the corner of Boston Street right by Bellflower Apartments. Residents may connect to any MBTA line through Andrew Square. A shuttle bus is also available from Andrew Square so that residents may easily visit South Bay Shopping Center.

THE RIDE, a door-to-door transportation service provided by the MBTA, is available by appointment for persons with disabilities.

Also, a city-operated Senior Shuttle is available by appointment for residents to go to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping.

  • Telephone intercom with closed circuit TV for residents’ security
  • Air-conditioned community room with a TV and VCR
  • Emergency call system
  • 24/7 security coverage
  • Resident activities such as dinner and coffee hours

  • On-site voting
  • Active crime watch group
  • Two resident parking lots and street parking for guests
  • Laundry rooms on the second and third floors
  • Health screenings
  • Outside patio for enjoying the outdoors and special community events
  • Wheelchair accessible units
