West Newton offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income individuals and families in the urban setting of the South End. Built in the late 1800s, the apartments are located in historic brownstone buildings. The complex offers 133 units, ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments. The management and maintenance offices for this complex, as well as for West Concord and Rutland/East Springfield Street apartments, are located at the West Newton site. West Newton is known as one of the BHA’s scattered site properties. Rents are calculated at 30% of a resident’s income. Residents have the option of choosing a flat rent as well.

Several elementary schools are located in the neighborhood and several churches are a few minutes walk away.
