Ausonia

Welcome to Ausonia
185 Fulton Street
Welcome to Ausonia Apartments. We are pleased that you are considering our community for your future home.

Ausonia is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons. We are located within the wonderful waterfront district in the historic and colorful North End. Built in the 1970s, the seven-story, elevator-equipped building is within walking distance of Fanueil Hall Marketplace, Paul Revere’s house, restaurants, churches, and a community health center, as well as many historic attractions.

The building offers 100 one- and two- bedroom units and many amenities specifically designed for the elderly and disabled individuals. Our units range from being fully equipped to modified to handicapped accessible.

Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.

Ausonia Apartments employs a professional management team that promptly responds to all resident needs in a timely manner. The staff includes:
  • Manager
  • Management Aide
  • Resident Service Coordinator
  • Resident Custodian

The BHA’s Elderly and Disabled Resident Service Coordinators have been trained to:
  • perform need assessments and make appropriate referrals for services
  • access services to enhance tenancy and independent life
  • coordinate services for home bound frail elderly/disabled
  • help residents to access services that enhance quality of life
  • assist in crisis intervention with tenants at risk
  • advocate and liaison with management, family, health providers and community agencies.

Location
Ausonia’s location is ideal, nestled in the heart of the North End, near many wonderful shops, restaurants, churches and community services. Historic Fanueil Hall is only a short walk away. Downtown Crossing is a quick walk or “T” ride away. Beautiful Boston Harbor is a stones throw from the apartments.

Health care is also available nearby at the North End Community Health Center

Ausonia is easily reached by public transportation, major highways, and the airport. Haymarket Station on the MBTA Orange Line is within walking distance, with Government Center and Downtown Crossing stations nearby.

THE RIDE, a door-to-door transportation service provided by the MBTA, is available by appointment for persons with disabilities.

Also, a city-operated Senior Shuttle is available by appointment for residents to go to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping.
