Welcome to Heritage Apartments. We are pleased that you are considering our community for your future home.
Heritage is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons. Heritage offers approximately 300 efficiency, one- and two-bedroom apartments in garden-style, elevator-equipped buildings. Our complex is ideally located directly on Boston Harbor with the breathtaking views of the city. Heritage is quite picturesque with apartment buildings surrounding courtyards, a fountain, and gardens.
We offer many amenities for elderly and disabled individuals, which include emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms as well as intercoms in every apartment. We have units that are handicap accessible and we may modify existing apartments based on Reasonable Accommodation requests.
Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.
Heritage employs a professional management team that promptly responds to all resident needs in a timely manner. The staff includes:
- Manager
- Management Aide
- Resident Service Coordinator
- Two resident custodians
The BHA’s Elderly and Disabled Resident Service Coordinators have been trained to:
- perform need assessments and
make appropriate referrals for
services
- access services to enhance tenancy and independent life
- coordinate services for home
bound frail elderly/disabled
- help residents to access services
that enhance quality of life
- assist in crisis intervention with tenants at risk
- advocate and liaison with
management, family, health providers and community agencies.

Location |
Heritage is located in East Boston on the Boston Harbor. Maverick Square, home to numerous restaurants and shops, can be found across the street.
Health care is available at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.
The Maverick Blue Line MBTA stop is located directly on the property, which provides access to all MBTA lines.
THE RIDE, a door-to-door transportation service provided by the MBTA, is available by appointment for persons with disabilities.
Also, a city-operated Senior Shuttle is available by appointment for residents to go to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping.

- Off-street, resident parking as it becomes available and on-street resident sticker-only parking available

- Community room with kitchen serving lunch five days-a-week

- Programs provided by East Boston Community Health Center
- Many social activities ranging from bingo, movies, trips, a walking club, international programs, coffee hours, arts and crafts program and parties
- Professionally managed by Maloney Properties for the Boston Housing Authority
- Hot meals provided by Kit Clark Senior Service
- Exercise equipment
- On-site voting
