Welcome to Foley Apartments. We are pleased that you are considering our community for your future home.
Foley is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons. Foley offers approximately 96 one-bedroom apartments in a seven-story, elevator-equipped building. Our complex is ideally located on the waterfront in the dynamic South Boston community – every unit has a water view.
We offer many amenities for elderly and disabled individuals, which include emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms as well as intercoms in every apartment. We have units that are handicap accessible and we may modify existing apartments based on Reasonable Accommodation requests
Residents pay 30 percent of their income towards rent, prorated rent, or a predetermined flat rent.
Foley Apartments employs a professional management team that promptly responds to all resident needs in a timely manner. The staff includes:
- Manager
- Management Aide
- Resident Service Coordinator
- Two resident custodians
The BHA’s Elderly and Disabled Resident Service Coordinators have been trained to:
- perform need assessments and
make appropriate referrals for
services
- access services to enhance tenancy and independent life
- coordinate services for home
bound frail elderly/disabled
- help residents to access services
that enhance quality of life
- assist in crisis intervention with tenants at risk
- advocate and liaison with
management, family, health providers and community agencies.

Location |
Foley is located in South Boston on the beautiful waterfront. A variety of businesses and services are located nearby or within a quick ride on public transportation. Historic Castle Island and area beaches are within walking distance. There are many churches in the area as well.
Health care is available nearby at the South Boston Community Health Center or at New England Medical Center a short distance away via bus transportation.
Public transportation is readily available. Residents may access Andrew Square and Broadway MBTA stations via bus transportation. The Bayview bus provides access to the many businesses along Broadway Street in South Boston and to downtown Boston.
THE RIDE, a door-to-door transportation service provided by the MBTA, is available by appointment for persons with disabilities.
Also, a city-operated Senior Shuttle is available by appointment for residents to go to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping.
