Commonwealth in Brighton was completely renovated in the 1980s and offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income families, elderly and disabled persons. Although the development is primarily family, 116 apartments are set aside specifically for elderly & disabled residents. The senior building offers 116 one- and two-bedroom apartments, with many amenities specifically designed for elderly and disabled individuals. Many apartments have a view of the city skyline. Our units range from being fully equipped to modified to handicapped accessible. Rents are calculated at 30% of a resident’s income. Residents have the option of choosing a flat rent as well.

Commonwealth is conveniently located at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Washington Street in Brighton. An active business district, with many stores and services, is located within walking distance, including a supermarket and bank. The development itself has an active community center, offering a variety of services to residents of all ages. Health care is available nearby at Beth Israel Health Center.
