Charlestown is the BHA's largest housing community for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. We are located in historic Charlestown, near the waterfront. Since 1992, the complex has undergone major renovations. The grounds have been professionally landscaped and offer residents a pleasant living environment. Charlestown offers 1108 one, two, three, four and five- bedroom units. Rents are calculated at 30% of a resident’s income. Residents have the option of choosing a flat rent as well.

Charlestown Apartments are located in Charlestown near Charlestown High School and Kent Middle School, as well as a supermarket, a church, a post office, the Charlestown Navy Yard, and other small shops. The Kennedy Center, located nearby, provides early childhood education, a community resource center, adult education and job-readiness programs, services for senior citizens and more. The Charlestown Boys and Girls Club provides recreational and educational programs for children aged 6 through 18. Health Care is available at the nearby Charlestown/Bunker Hill Health Center.
