The Boston Housing Authority PD is nationally accredited law enforcement agency seeking qualified applicants to be placed on an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. Qualified applicants must have satisfactorily completed a full time MPTC Academy or have permanent MPTC waiver. Reserve/Intermittent training will not be considered.
All applicants to the BHAPD will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation; medical and psychological examination in addition to a CALEA approved written entrance exam. Applicants shall possess sound judgement, outstanding communication skills and the ability to work proactively and independently in a diverse community-policing environment.
Base salary is $40,039.59 to $46,925.78. Benefits include 13 paid holidays, $1,200 annual uniform cleaning allowance, 457 deferred compensation plan, 80/20 health insurance, 60/40 dental, Group 4 State-Boston Retirement.

BHA Safety Officer |
The Boston Housing Authority Department of Public Safety is seeking qualified applicants to be placed on an eligibility list for the position of Safety Officer. Safety Officers are responsible but are limited to enforcing all the safety and security regulations of the Boston Housing Authority and to monitor visitor foot traffic through fixed post assignments.
Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent, minimum age of nineteen years old, no criminal record. Applicant must be able to work days or nights including weekends and holidays. Must possess the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal orders with a degree of self-discipline. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Staring salary is $10.11 per hour. Benefits include 13 paid holidays, 457 deferred compensation plan, accrued vacation/sick time, 80/20 health insurance, 60/40 dental, Optional Life Insurance.
