HOPE VI is a federally funded program that allows public housing authorities to apply for funding to redevelop severely distressed housing developments. Redevelopment under the HOPE VI program focuses on three areas: physical improvements, management improvements, and social and community services to address residents’ needs. The program is operated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The BHA has been awarded three grants, for Mission Main, Orchard Gardens and Maverick Gardens, under this highly competitive program.
