The Boston Housing Authority has partnered with the Center for Women and Enterprise (CWE) and the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation (DBEDC) to offer BHA residents access to entrepreneurial training and a micro-loan fund.
The Center for Women and Enterprise, through its Community Entrepreneurship Program, successfully targets low-income women who are interested in starting a business. DBECD successfully administers a micro-loan program.
Through this program, the BHA is able to offer BHA residents tuition-free enrollment in the CWE Community Entrepreneurs Program, which guides the students from the initial visioning process of business concepts through to the development of a business plan and preparation to apply for loan funds to launch the business. Access to a micro-loan program administered by DBEDC is also available.
For more information regarding the collaboration, contact the BHA Community Services Department.
To register for the next training class or for information on how to enter the program, contact Myrtho Moise
