As I write this, Boston is a very popular place to live. This popularity, however, can put pressure on people who need to find places to live at a price they can afford.
I want people from all walks of life to have the opportunity to live in quality, affordable housing. The Boston Housing Authority is the local leader when it comes to affordable public housing. By offering a wide range of housing options as well as programs and services, the BHA provides stable and welcoming living environments for families, the elderly and people with disabilities.
Each BHA development shares a sense of community and each community reflects the unique qualities of its surrounding neighborhood. It is my hope that residents of BHA developments will benefit from their experiences and form friendships with neighbors that will last a lifetime.
In addition to providing public housing to thousands of people, the BHA provides many city residents with rental assistance that allows them to live in affordable housing throughout the City of Boston. Whether new to Boston or long-time residents, all of our residents add to the social fabric of our city.
